THE LORD'S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth
as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and
the glory, for ever. Amen.
(Mat. 6:6-12; Luke 11:2-4)

                                 THE APOSTLES' CREED

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:  And in Jesus Christ his only begotten
Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius
Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the
dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father,Almighty; from thence he
shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy Catholic Church,* the
communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
* One Holy Universal Christian Church may be used.

                                 Prayer before Communion:

Father of Grace, Merciful God, whom I also can call my Father through our, Lord Jesus Christ! I want
to take part of this Holy Communion, which is prepared for those who believe in Thee, a:nd are
followers of Thy Son. But because nothing that is unclean can come. before Thee: I beseech Thee to
forgive all my sins for the sake of Thy Son, Jesus Christ. Purify and sanctify me, and through Thy Holy
Spirit make me a worthy partaker of this heavenly table. At the same time give me assurance that all my
sins are forgiven me if I come here as a worthy guest, and if I try to abandon all sins and obey Thee
always. I pray Thee: receive me into Thy grace and bless me in this life and in the life to come. Amen.

Prayer at the taking of the holy bread:

Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, Bread from Heaven! I take this bread, which is the symbol of Thy broken
body and which now becomes a part of me and unite with it. Grant that I too may be united with Thee.
Amen.

Prayer at the taking of the holy wine:

Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, Water of everlasting life! I take and drink of this cup in which the wine is the
symbol of Thy precious blood. Grant that I too may be united with Thee. Amen.

                      Thanksgiving prayer after Communion:

I praise Thee, O Lord, my Heavenly Father, for all the blessings Thou hast poured upon me. But
especially praise I Thee now for the grace of having admitted me, to this Holy table, assuring me through
this that Thou wilt pardon all my sins and give me everlasting happiness in the life hereafter. Oh, Lord! I
hereby make a holy promise in Thy presence that after this I will avoid all sinful deeds, keep myself to
Thy commandments, and obey Thee during all my life. I pray to Thee, O Lord, to give me strength and
of Thy grace, so that I may be able to fulfill my promise and live in this world a life that pleases Thee,
and in the life to come I will praise Thee for ever and ever. Amen.

                           THE STAR-SPANGLED BANNER.
Francis Scott Key.        John Stafford Smith.

1. O say! can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we  hailed at the twilight's last
gleaming?Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watched,
were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets' red glare, the bombs burst-ing in air, Gave proof thro' the
night, that our flag was still there. Oh say, does that Star spangled Banner yet wave O'er the land of the
free and the home of the brave?

O, my God, the Magyar bless
With Thy plenty and good cheer!
With Thine aid his just cause press,
Where his foes to fight appear.
Fate, who for so long did’st frown,
                                   Bring him happy times and ways;
                                   Atoning sorrow hath weighed down
Sins of past and future days.
